Every two months we will send you two bottles of wine that we have carefully hand-selected from our list of artisan California producers. These wines are made in very small quantities, and are often sold by strict allocation. In each shipment we also include tasting notes on each wine, as well as a newsletter alerting you to special offers and allocations at our store. It's our way of making sure our best customers get the first chance to purchase wines of limited availability.
After receiving their sample bottles, wine club members will then have a 45-day grace period to purchase additional bottles of the wines received with a 10% discount on a case of 6 bottles or more. Please note that shipping costs for these additional purchases will be charged, and vary based on your location and the quantity of wine purchased. While supplies last.
In addition to the wine shipments and newsletter, our Wine Discovery Club Members will also be eligible for free seminars and tasting passes at the store. These events have become a very popular way to learn about the world of wine and meet some of the fascinating personalities behind it.
You can choose from two levels of clubs; this charge covers the 2 bottles of wine, the JV Wine and Spirits newsletter, winery tech sheet on each wine shipping* and handling. The shipments will always include one bottle of red wine the other bottle will be dependant on seasonal releases. Summer may include a white where winter months may include two reds. We will never ship only whites.
Discovery Wine Club runs every second month from February to December in a calendar year. Gold Discovery Club - $ 89.99 per shipment
Every two months you will receive 2 bottles of exceptional boutique wine. These producers are hand selected and from approved American Viticulture Area's. Some regions we could choose to include would be Stag's Leap AVA, Santa Cruz AVA, Alexander Valley AVA or Rutherford AVA to name a few. These wines are made in very limited production from one barrel to a few hundred cases and represent the best these area's produce. Reds in the Gold Level could be approachable with some decanting time and would benefit from cellar aging. BACK TO TOP Silver Discovery Club - $ 59.99 per shipment
Every two months you will receive 2 bottles of finely crafted California wines. These wines will be chosen from American Appellations. Some regions we could choose to include would be Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, Central Coast, Sierra Foot Hills, or Santa Barbara to name a few. These wines are made with a little larger production but still have very little distribution. Reds in this level are drinking perfectly right now or could be cellared for a few months if desired. BACK TO TOP New members can sign up at the tasting bar, and even taste some of our selections. If a new member prefers to or needs to fax in an application, he or she can download our Application PDF, fill it out and fax it in. We ask that he or she also contact us by phone so that we can explain the program and shipping regulations to member's home state. Rules and Regulations 1. An initial commitment of two shipments is required.
2. You must live in California or in an approved UPS Reciprocal state to be a member. Please see list of current states. For your protection we use ADULT SERVICE SIGNATURE so that only persons over the age of 21 and with ID can sign for the package.
3. Payment by credit card is required at time of shipment, this will be automatically charged to your card on file. Wine and Shipping are included in this one charge.
4. Those within pick up distance from JV can arrange to pick up their wine and avoid the shipping charge. Wines must be picked-up within two weeks of the release. If you will be out of town you must notify us two weeks in advance of the shipment date.
5. All wine shipped are considered FINAL SALE. If you receive a corked or damaged bottle please notify us as soon as possible. We will endeavor to replace it with the same item; however if the wine is no longer available a credit will be issued or a suitable replacement of our choosing will be issued.
6. Cancellations must occur by phone or writing at least two weeks prior to the next shipment month. In calling or writing please speak to, Meryll or Jon; they will be able to assist you.
7. Price does not include California Sales tax with is currently 7.75%
8. Charges are made to your credit card (on file) the first day of the shipping month.
9. Any request to alter, delay or terminate your order must be received 2 weeks prior to the ship month. 10.If you fail to pick up your wine within 120 days, it will be shipped to you at your expense.
11. Shipments of wine may be delayed for several reasons, the wineries or JV will not release wine if we are having a heat wave or know the wine will sit in transit in another location exposed to heat. Also with the volume of wine leaving Napa on any given day via ground or air there are delays in the system due to volume that are beyond our or the shippers control.
12. JV Wine club uses only UPS ground for shipping and are currently limited to: AK*, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, GA, HI*, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, LA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY. * SHIPPING TO AK & HI is $17.00 extra. |
